Life & Style Magazine: “The Queen Humiliates Kate Middleton”

July 3, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Life & Style Magazine, like Star Magazine, chose not to feature the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce as its main cover story. The divorce made for easy filler, as people rushed for just that ahead of July 4. But, oddly, some magazines opted to keep whatever stories (one supposes) they had already written rather hasten the changes as did People and Us Weekly.

Life & Style’s cover is rather random, and boring. And, looking at main story of the British royals, it becomes apparent why they opted to stick with that rather than use Friday’s breaking news and rush to print by Monday (deadlines can be Friday, for print on Monday, on occasions like celebrity marriages or deaths, although deadlines are usually around Monday)… they had no insight whatsoever. The inset headline says: ” Divorce Details. Katie Breaks Free. Tom’s blindsided. Inside their custody battle.” Yeah, you already read that on TMZ.com.

The main headline says: “New Royal War. The Queen Humiliates Kate. Consumed by jealousy as Kate steals the spotlight, the queen gets revenge by forcing her to curtsy for William’s royal cousins.” It’s a dumb, untrue story. But, in short, it’s based on the protocol that born heirs are more important than commoners who marry into the British royal family.

During Queen Elizabeth’s recent Diamond Jubilee celebrations, all eyes were on Prince William’s wife of 14 months, Kate Middleton, who appeared to be embraced as a member of the family. But just weeks later, Kate has been delivered a slap in the face.

In an official revision to the Royal Household’s Order of Precedence, Kate, 30, is now required to curtsy to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 23, and Princess Eugenie, 22. Why? They’re considered blood princesses, while Kate merely married into the royal family.

“It’s a total humiliation for Kate,” a source in Kate and William’s social circle confirms to Life & Style. “It’s like a demotion for her in the royal family, and the queen is the one who ordered this.”

Even more insulting, when William’s with her, no curtsy is necessary. But if she encounters them without her husband by her side, she has to bow down, whether in public or private.

“These moves from the queen are designed to remind Kate that just because she’s popular, she isn’t as important as the queen or any other royal-born family member,” the friend reveals. – via Life & Style Magazine.
