The Kardashians & E! React To The Birth Of Penelope Scotland Disick

Kourtney Kardashian gave birth this weekend and immediately confirmed the news in a pre-approved statement to E! Online who, of course, broke the news.

* E! Online (who just had a very questionable website redesign), broke the news of the birth and the baby’s name. Penelope Scotland Disick was born on Sunday in Los Angeles weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces. Later, E! Online posted the below photo montage to Twitter with the caption: “The newest Kardashian has arrived! Congrats to @kourtneykardash on giving birth to a healthy baby girl!”

* Kourtney Kardashian’s statement to E! said: “Scott and I are overjoyed to welcome our precious angel Penelope Scotland Disick into our lives. We are forever blessed. Mommy and baby are resting comfortably.” Which reads like a very, very tired intern tried to write in the first person on the 33-year-old’s behalf.

* Kris Jenner also issued a statement to E!: “It was a great. She had an easy delivery. [Penelope] is so cute. She looks just like Mason. She’s so beautiful. We are so happy.” Later, Jenner re-tweeted a message from a fan who said the baby name was trending worldwide: The fan said “Penelope Scotland Disick & Kourtney Kardashian are trending worldwide! ❤”

* Kim Kardashian wrote a blog about the birth: “Welcome to the world, Penelope Scotland Disick! Kourtney gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter on Sunday and the whole family is so thrilled to finally meet her! She is absolutely perfect! I am so excited to be an aunt again and can’t wait to spoil little Penelope. I know Mason is going to be the best big brother in the whole world. Congratulations Kourtney and Scott. Xo”

* Khloe Kardashian tweeted: “Such an amazing day!!!!!” Later, the 28-year-old wrote on her blog: “I’m an auntie again!!!!!!!!!! As I’m sure you all know, my beautiful big sister gave birth yesterday to the most perfect baby girl you’ve EVER seen: Penelope Scotland Disick! The entire family is literally exploding with joy and have not stopped fawning over our new little girl. And Mason is already loving being a big brother! This is just such a special and happy time for my family. Thank you to Kourt and Scott for making such beautiful babies! LOL.”

* Kendall Jenner also tweeted a reaction: “great day! ‪#babytime‬ ‪#PenelopeScotland‬”

The family will, obviously, have some shill deal with a tabloid worked out already. Probably Us Weekly Magazine, who paid for the pointless “babymoon” which still isn’t a real thing. Us Weekly went to Kim Kardashian’s honeymoon, and Kourtney Kardashian’s babymoon, so it may have the first photos of the baby. Another option would be OK! Magazine who revealed Kourtney Kardashian was having a girl in what, for once, appeared to be a real interview/ exclusive.

The baby was born in time for Monday’s tabloid deadline; the later deadline. So, if it’s a slow news week, expect one of two things: 1) lesser tabloids pretending to have “sources” leaking information about the birth, as though the Kardashians don’t lock down pertinent detail when they’re charging money for everything. The same magazines will pass off photos of the 33-year-old with then-newborn Mason Dash Disick, or a random baby, as the “first look at the newborn” (OK! did this with Jessica Simpson). And they’ll pass off Photoshopped photos as a “postpartum baby body exclusive” in a few weeks (OK! did this with Kourtney Kardashian’s first baby) 2) OR the Kardashians photographed the newborn as the umbilical cord was cut, to meet deadline, and we’ll see REAL photos of Penelope Scotland Disick this Wednesday (remember Kendra Wilkinson’s postpartum OK! cover with the hospital tags on her wrists?!?).
