Real Housewives of New York in Danger of Being Cancelled
With the success of the Real Housewives franchise, Bravo has not just made these everyday women household names but has managed to inflate their egos. However, their wallets don’t measure up.
Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, LuAnn de Lesseps, Aviva Drescher, Heather Thomson and Carole Radziwill are demanding a pay increase from the network. Production for the sixth season was set to begin on Wednesday, May 8th; however, none of the women showed up.
Having already completed five seasons of the show, the ladies have each at one time or another branched off and started different business ventures aside from the careers they already had. But one of the ladies is now singing a different tune, “We don’t make money writing books and selling wine anymore, so we need to make money as talent on the show.”
Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes is the highest paid housewife, earning $1 million dollars per season, while the rest of the women earn anything from $65,000 to $650,000 according to Page Six.
Even though the ladies are engulfed in drama both in front and behind the cameras, it is nice to see them coming together for something. There are reports that the women must sign their contracts by today, Friday May, 10th or they risk their show being canned.
Do you think the ladies should stand their ground? Or should they give in in fear of losing their 15 minutes of fame?
