What Is The Real Reason Lindsay Lohan Turned Down Dancing With The Stars?

January 24, 2013 by Hollywoodite

Earlier this week, it was reported that Lindsay Lohan turned down $550,000 to appear on Dancing With The Stars. TMZ.com insisted the rejection was because of an aversion to reality television and preference for film. However, that reasoning didn’t really hold up because Lohan has appeared on Bravo’s Million Dollar Decorators, which is clearly reality television. Moreover, she asked to be on that show when she met one of the designers at a party.

That was a show in development nearly a year in advance, and then pre-recorded, until Lohan botched the production and stole their stuff. According to reports, Lohan agreed to film from planning to the reveal but took the $250,000 worth of free furnishings and stopped taking producers’ calls before they could complete the final scenes. Then she moved house and placed the goods in storage. Leaving Bravo producers so angry at being cheated they’re threatening to reposes the furniture or stick Lohan with the $25-50,000 gift tax.

…and that was pre-recorded. Not live. Following  the required promotion and rehearsal, the whole point of DWTS is it’s live. Lohan didn’t complete a shoot that she explicitly asked to become part of. She absolutely could not be relied upon to complete a live show she’s deigning to do for the money. And let’s not forget how she behaved on The Canyons that required a 7,500 expose in the NYT.

And that’s pretty much what sources are saying: that her new PR team know better than to let her go on live TV. She doesn’t care enough to be professional. Especially where she, clearly, thinks she’s above the show.

A source explains: “Lindsay has been a mess on movie sets lately. She doesn’t show up on time, she keeps everyone waiting, and so her team decided that there was no way that she could handle the pressure of a live show like Dancing with the Stars. Lindsay operates on her own schedule, there would be no way that anyone could guarantee that she would be on time for rehearsals or the shows, and they’re live so it would be horrible if she didn’t show up! A live show and Lindsay? That would not be smart!”
