Reese Witherspoon Cancels All Her Talk Show Appearances After Being Arrested

Reese Witherspoon was arrested on Friday for her conduct during her husband Jim Toth’s DUI arrest in Atlanta, GA. Witherspoon was drunk and belligerent and became agitated and combative to the point police arrested her and Toth and booked them at a local jail where their mug shots were taken. Witherspoon had a scheduled red carpet soon after the arrest, for which she looked like she hadn’t slept all weekend. And she was supposed to do promotion for her new movie but she’s pulled the plug.

According to TheHollywoodReporter.com, the Mud actress was scheduled to appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America both of which would undoubtedly have asked about the arrest. So she’s cancelled altogether. She also opted out of the press junket for her own movie.

Also, remember the 2011 MTV Movie Awards when Witherspoon gave a speech about being better than the other female nominees because she was no “Bad girl,” well, Pepperidge Farm remembers. She said at the time of Blake Lively leaking racy photos ahead of the Green Lantern premiere for attention, “I get it, girls, that it’s cool to be a bad girl,’ said Witherspoon. “But it is possible to make it in Hollywood without doing a reality show. When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed and you hid it under your bed…. So, for all the girls out there, it’s totally possible to be a good girl. I’m going to try to make it cool.”
