Reese Witherspoon Probably Not Pressing Charges Against Woman Who Ran Her Over

Reese Witherspoon was run over Wednesday morning and taken to hospital with minor injuries. Witherspoon was jogging and then crossing a road as a woman approached at 20MPH and failed to stop. Originally, the 84-year-old woman driver was cited and let go. But soon after, she was summoned by the DMV to retake her driving test. Reports TMZ.com “Santa Monica police have asked the DMV to haul in the elderly driver for a full re-examination within the next 30 days. In addition to the driver’s test she will have to take an eye exam, and provide a list of medications she’s taking.”

And now Us Weekly is reporting that no charges will be filed. That’s according to a source, and Us Weekly’s sources are ridiculous. So make of this what you will. The source claims that “The incident is being treated as an accident. The driver was not given an alcohol test at the accident scene and typically she would receive a fine and a point on her driving license as it is considered a moving violation.”

Us Weekly adds that Witherspoon’s injuries will not affect any of her current projects… she only got a cut on her forehead.
