REPORT Lamar Odom knew the Kardashians would talk about his addiction on the show
When Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, after only 72 days of marriage, she realised she would need to be sympathetic to the public or they would turn on her. Meaning bad publicity.
So she and her mother, Kris Jenner, concocted a plan to defame the ex-husband by scripting and staging scenes on their reality show MONTHS after the filming. They were so desperate to make him the bad guy, they literally hired a sound stage and re-shot scenes to smear his name. They got caught doing it, but it didn’t matter. The damage was already done.
Now Lamar Odom is on the outside, having cheated on Khloe Kardashian and done crack cocaine. But, since there’s a chance Khloe might forgive everything and take him back, the family isn’t as quick to contrive scenes to defame him (Kris leaked his addiction and cheating to TMZ and they’re mentioning his “depression” and “emotional problems” in passing on the show), but… since there’s a good chance he may rejoin the family… he’s still not being treated as harshly as Humphries.
“Lamar knew it was coming so he wasn’t too shocked by it,” a source told HollywoodLife of the footage currently airing on KUWTK. “He wasn’t sure what was going to be aired but he knew he would be talked about.”
“A lot of that is in the past and he’s gotten over much of that,” adds the source. “It would be much different if he were deep in it now and Khloe was talking publicly about it. That would have been a mess. But luckily, time was on Lamar’s side.”
