Is Lea Michele getting a Glee spinoff?

Glee was cancelled a few weeks ago. At which time creator Ryan Murphy revealed he had the ending planned but obviously changed it at the last minute because of Cory Monteith’s passing.

The original ending involved both leads, Finn and Rachel.

Rather than seeing the real-life loves together on screen, Ryan is working on another project so he can continue working with Lea Michele. She’s reportedly getting a spinoff.

“This will be announced soon,” says a source. “They’re making the deals now and it also presents a viable exit plan for the main Glee series itself — in that some of its core cast would also migrate to the Lea Michele project as Glee is showing signs of aging.”

“This is definitely happening,” the insider said.

In a recent interview for ELLE Magazine, Lea revealed her Glee co-star Kate Hudson was her savior during her mourning period when being hounded by paparazzi. “I called her and said, ‘I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters],’” explained Lea in the new issue.

“She was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house,’” continued the 27-year-old. “Like it was nothing. She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices. I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me.”

UPDATE: GossipCop.com is denying this. Despite having no official confirmation, nor named sources of its own, it’s unnamed sources offered their own denial. Not that the word of one unnamed source means much pitted against another (GossipCop tends to overestimate the value of unconfirmed source denials on tabloids stories).
