RHOBH: Kim Richards’ Child’s Psychiatric Hold Was Filmed

September 9, 2013 by Ricky Guo

As reported earlier, a child of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold. The child was not named, but we will find out who it is once the new season begins.

Sources exclusively tell RadarOnline that the sad ordeal was filmed for the show. The source also says, “The child will most likely be identified, but not featured on the show.”

The heartbreak first began in July when people in the neighborhood saw a young female/male wandering the streets unclothed and the police were called to the scene. The child was taken away and placed under a 5150.

Kim is a recovering alcoholic. We’ve seen it played out on the first and second seasons of the show. She decided to enter rehab and get help for her problem. She always got defensive when someone would bring it up and has always been the most private of the group, so it’s surprising that she would feature this ordeal on the show. A source says, “Kim now wants to raise awareness about mental health issues including depression and bi-polar disorder and will probably go public with how it has impacted her family.”

Many family members, including her sister and fellow co-star Kyle Richards, are scared that she is going to relapse and start to drink again. But it seems like Kyle has been there with her every step of the way. The source also adds, “Viewers will see tender moments between Kim and her sister Kyle, as she supports her during this difficult time. Kim is handling the situation well and has stepped up big time. She is absolutely committed to getting her child help, while maintaining her ongoing sobriety. The urge to relapse had Kyle worried about Kim.”

The child is currently back home, adds the source, “Her child is still continuing to receive outpatient treatment since being released from the psychiatric hold.”

We will continue to send our support to Kim Richards during this difficult time.
