Rihanna Accompanies Chris Brown To Probation Hearing in Los Angeles

Chris Brown was in a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday joined by off-again, on-again girlfriend Rihanna. Yes, that’s the same Chris Brown who assaulted Rihanna and left her broken and beaten only a few years back.

Brown’s appearance in court was related to allegations of fraud involving the community service documents issued to his probation officer. His attorney, Mark Geragos, was asked by a reporter why Rihanna would sit behind her abuser in court in a show of support, to which Gergagos replied: “She thinks it’s utterly ridiculous what they’re doing to him.”

In a court filing from the Los Angeles district attorney’s office released this week, prosecutors are accusing Brown of failing to complete the required amount of community service assigned when he pleaded guilty to the felony assault charge.

CNN.com is reporting that Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lackey believes that Brown wasn’t in Los Angeles on some of the days that he had documented for his community service. Lackey said “at best sloppy documentation and, at worst, fraudulent reporting,” regarding the condition of the required paperwork that was to be submitted to his probation officer as proof of completion of service hours served.

Geragos called the charges “absolutely false.” After the hearing, Geragos further stated that the charges against Brown were fraudulent in addition to being false.

However, the motion included Brown’s alleged involvement in a fight with singer Frank Ocean at a Hollywood recording studio last month. Prosecutors also included two other incidents, one of which claims Brown stole a cell phone from a fan and another incident the stated Brown threw a chair after an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America.

Prosecutors are not asking for Brown’s probation to be revoked, but they are asking the court to order Brown to restart all 1,400 hours of community service.

This Friday marks the fourth anniversary of the night that Brown assaulted Rihanna. What is she thinking?
