Robert Pattinson: Did He Talk About Kristen Stewart On The Daily Show? Why Was He Booed?
Robert Pattinson has given his interview for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart for which the 26-year-old was reportedly booed by paparazzi for entering the studios by car without stopping to pose for photos.
Although some outlets were reporting that Pattinson was booed by fans, it was actually paparazzi who booed the actor’s entrance because his car pulled in without stopping. And here’s video of him getting booed.
During the interview, says TMZ.com, when Jon Stewart asked,”How are you doing?” Pattinson replied simply, “I intend not to say anything.” Which the interviewer let go, saying, ”I wish you the best, these things happen when you’re young.”
Zap2It has another account of what happened, insisting its sources inside the taping say Pattinson did address Kristen Stewart a little. Pattinson, who looks like he’s lost weight the past few weeks, was polite and smiled during the interview. Gently teased about his weight loss, Pattinson was provided with a couple of cartons of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream that Pattinson teased he couldn’t eat because he was wearing two pairs of Spanx. The interviewer suggested Pattinson was better off without his estranged girlfriend in the first place. And when asked whether the cheating photos made it feel as though his world had ended, Pattinson joked “It does,” only to clarify he wasn’t playing for sympathy. Asked for a statement, Pattinson said he hoped ”Twilight fans would support Cosmopolis.” Pattinson, whose manager releases his statements because he’s never had a publicist /PR person nor team of people, said he would be getting a PR rep soon (Jon Stewart teased that a time machine would be more useful).
And Us Weekly Magazine spoke to an audience member, who explained: ”Kristen’s name was never even mentioned and it definitely seemed like Jon was giving him a break. Jon brought out the ice cream for him and Rob to eat, almost like Jon was feeding it to Rob to help him get through a breakup. Jon didn’t ask anything about Kristen but it was obvious that was what the ice cream was for.” Another eyewitness says: “Rob was just really awkward and acting kind of nervous.”
Pattinson has been criticised on Twitter by Kristen Stewart’s fans for not doing more to defend the actress on The Daily Show (same criticism on Tumblr).
After The Daily Show, Pattinson went the Cosmopolis premiere where he posed for fans then headed inside when the fans rushed the barricades.
