Rumour Has It / Someone Like You: Glee’s Version Of Adele – WATCH

Glee will be covering Adele in season 3, episode 6: Mash Off. So, apparently, all those rips with grainy audio on YouTube aren’t necessary as Glee has its own VEVO channel. It’s mostly just archived audio, but they’re releasing this mash-up a week early. The Mash Off episode isn’t on until November 15, but the musical’s mix of Adele’s Rumour Has It/ Someone Like You was uploaded online yesterday. Not just the audio with a random banner. But the actual, full video from next week’s show.

It’s an idea to listen to the mix while not looking at the screen at least once. Glee gives these rather somber songs a LOT of choreography that becomes bouncy and distracting after a promising start.

With nothing to compare these to, they sound a lot better. But, play Adele’s Rumour Has It and Someone Like You and it becomes obvious that the show gets an A for effort but lacks the chops of real singers.

Like last week’s Candyman cover, if you compare Christina Aguilera to Amber Riley/ Naya Rivera/ Heather Morris you notice how thin, young and underdeveloped the cast’s voices are.
