SWATH Director’s Father Reacts: “She Is A Very Pretty Girl… Sometimes Things Happen”

In the wake of the cheating scandal, aside from photos that showed Kristen Stewart cheating with married Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the most shocking thing to fans has been her response.
That is, Stewart’s fans were spreading lies on IMDb boards that the “Us Weekly Magazine photos were Photoshopped” and “his wife Liberty Ross gave a radio interview saying it’s herself in the photos.” Those same fans were stunned into silence, only hours later, when Stewart admitted her infidelity and claimed to still love Pattinson. Here is her statement again: “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” And here’s a fan reaction.
Stewart is “sorry”: she’s sorry for getting caught, sorry for being selfish, sorry for doing this during the Twilight promotional trail, and sorry for doing this when E! News insists the SWATH sequel is still in pre-production with Sanders as director.
It’s contentious whether or not Stewart and Sanders had sex (although it appears he went down on her in public). It’s debated whether they cheated for a year or for one week. And it’s debated whether or not it all started on the SWATH set.
The director’s father seems to think this was a brief fling, not a big deal. Michael Sanders tells People Magazine about his son’s affair: “From what I gather, nothing really happened and it is all a lot of fuss about nothing. I should imagine it was something very brief. She is a very pretty girl and when you work that closely with someone for so long, sometimes things happen… He is very honorable, hardworking and [a] dedicated father and filmmaker… Of course [my son and daughter-in-law’s] relationship will survive this. This is nothing; [my son and his wife] will definitely survive all of this. It is all a lot of fuss about nothing.”
