Buckwild: Salwa Amin Worked Hard In School; Explains Cast Is From Mixed Social Classes
In an earlier post, a little reading about Buckwild’s Salwa Amin revealed that she had been arrested for an unspecified misdemeanor out of West Virginia, she smoked weed before, and she says she’s been with five men. She also defended her choice to be on the show, assuaged those who feared her participation would shame her family, and said she was “beautiful” and would “make it.”
And there’s more. In the same Topix.com thread in which Amin is responding to “haters” she talks a little more about herself which is really the only insight in lieu of public social media updates (her Twitter is locked at the time of writing).
Responding to criticism, someone going by “Salwa Richmond, VA” explains that she worked hard in school for her grades, her classmates copied her work, and she made her professor father proud, which she attributes to her ethnicity saying “I’m Asian!!! I’m smart as s**it!!! Hahah it’s like in our genetic code that we are smart!!???”
* Asked why she’s even on the show, Amin responded to one commenter: “Whaaaaat!!!!???? R u crazyyy!?? I’m Asian!!! I’m smart as s**t!!! Hahah it’s like in our genetic code that we are smart!!??? R u serious!?!!! I worked hard as hell for my grades!!!! My dad was harder on me than the rest of the kids in his class!!!!! Ahhh that makes me so mad that ppl think that just bc my dad is a professor I did good in Skool.. Not true at all.. It was hard as hell i worked hard as hell to graduate and get the highest Grade in my dads class just to make my daddy proud of me!!! Im a daddy’s gurl!! And one more thing dawg… Allllll the kids got their answers from ME b**ch.. U def weren’t in my class bc u don’t know s**t b**ch… And I bet u DIdNt graduate u loser ass ignorant loser!!! Ummmm… TRY AGAIN!!!”
* Later in the same thread, “Salwa Charleston, WV” explains the perceived age disparity between herself, age 24 (as reveled in the booking information from her July 2012 arrest), and the rest of the cast (for example, Shae Bradley posted her driver’s licence on Twitter that gave her age as 21; Shain Gandee’s MySpace says he’s 21; Katie Saria’s Twitter says she’s 22). Amin says “…u know what’s crazy! They act like bc I’m 2 years older there’s NO way I coulda grown up w these kids!!! Are ALL of ur best friends the same age as u!!!! That’s soooo r*tarded that they say that!! But thanks for the compliment!!”
* Responding to the positive comments,” Amin continues: “U r hella rope!!! Salwa (rope means hella fine/gorgeous were I’m from ) wv got bad ones I will follow u n e were let me noe wut I got to do to be with u… F*k all haters do u ppl hate it’s in there nature… So let them hate while u count ur stacks…I think ur slang is Hott .. I’m down”
* And, explaining the class disparity that’s confusing people who are writing off Buckwild as being about “trailer trash” when it appears to feature some middle-class and educated kids too, Amin says: “I’m not from sissonville !!! I’m from south hills! The cast is divided into two groups. First group is from south hills and the second group is from sissonville. The show not only hits one angle of only one social class. They show how both classes live and how we both have the ‘what happens , happens’ attitude.”
