Selena Gomez Split: Why Did Selena Gomez Dump Justin Bieber? What Went Wrong?

According to E! News who broke the story on Friday, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have split after almost exactly two years together. Subsequent reports claim that Gomez dumped Bieber and can offer some specifics as to what went wrong in the relationship.
A source told E! News: “Because of their crazy schedules, it was getting harder and harder to maintain a relationship.”
Another source told Us Weekly: “Selena broke up with Justin about a week ago. It’s been a really challenging experience over the last year because of their crazy schedules. Selena definitely had some major trust issues with Justin.” A Bieber source counters to Us Weekly, however, the couple may get back together: “They are [young]… it changes from day to day. Right now it is a break and tomorrow it could be back on knowing them… it’s hard to say how they will end up. Maybe she feels more serious about it this time. We’ll see.”
In any case, a split would explain why Bieber tried so hard to score at the Victoria’s Secret show at which he performed this week.
According to Page Six, Bieber hit on all the models (including ones who, as it turns out, were not single themselves): “[He was] asking for phone numbers from the girls” throughout taping of the show and at the party. “He was hitting on the girls all day. He was asking for their numbers.”
It’s safe to say that included Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin, who tweeted Friday: “hey everyone. please calm down. he is all yours!! 🙂 please :)”
Gomez experienced similar harassment from Bieber’s irascible fans at the start of their relationship. “It’s hard. It hurts, it really does,” Gomez said at the time about Internet haters. “I don’t feel like I’m doing anything wrong [by dating Justin]. I’ve been best friends with him for a very long time. It does hurt my feelings a lot but I try not to focus on it. I have a strong family and great fans.”
