Seth Meyers Engaged to Longtime Girlfriend Alexi Ashe

Weekend update! (Quite literally). Saturday Night Live star Seth Meyers has proposed and is now engaged to his longtime girlfriend Alexi Ashe, according to Us Weekly via a representative of the couple.

The 39-year-old actor and comedian met Ashe, a lawyer, years ago at a wedding. Wow. That is pretty ironic, don’t you think? The couple has been inseparable since they first met; in fact, a source confirmed to Us in 2011 that marriage for them was definitely near in the future and that they “are incredibly solid.” Us was also told by another source that Meyers has “known that she’s the one for a while, but it was all about timing.”

The couple definitely has a lot to look forward to, especially Meyers. After just wrapping up his final season and career at Saturday Night Live, he is getting ready to replace Jimmy Fallon on Late Night (Fallon is replacing Jay Leno on The Tonight Show) in 2014. Meyers will also continue to be the head writer on SNL in the fall. According to one of Us’s sources, “he wanted to do [Late Night] after SNL wrapped [because] he didn’t want to be an absentee fiancé. Her family loves him.” Meyers sure has a lot on his plate for the next few years, but that should not faze him now that he seems to have true love. There have not been any reported, set dates for the wedding yet.
