Snooki: Will She Party While Pregnant, Is Jersey Shore Cancelled?

A few more interview snippets have been released following the cover interview for Us Weekly for which the magazine paid for an exclusive after People/ Page Six had already revealed the engagement and pregnancy. We get a few more details, but it’s things one could glean or guess. But the sudden turnaround of Snooki is still somewhat interesting, following a mini-paternity scandal before the pregnancy was even confirmed and her own admission that she got pregnant by accident during a weekend drinking binge.
Snooki told the tabloid she’s over clubbing because it’s pathetic to party while pregnant, adding that she’s done with Jersey Shore: “If anything, I’ll visit the shore [but] I’m not living in that house being pregnant. I don’t want to be one of those moms who’s pregnant in a club. It’s disgusting.”
Asked why she lied when first asked about the pregnancy, she explained: “I wanted to make sure the baby is OK. Things can go wrong, like a miscarriage. It was my business, and I wasn’t ready to tell.”
She continued, confirming that she’s engaged but won’t marry for at least a year so she has time to lose the baby weight, ”My dad was upset. He said, ‘You have your whole life ahead of you.’ We didn’t talk for a week. He came around eventually, and now he can’t wait for the baby. My mom is so happy for me.”
MTV has since offered this statement about the pregnancy: “We wish Nicole a healthy and happy pregnancy and congratulate her on her engagement. We support her as she starts this new chapter of her life.”
Previously, before she even confirmed the pregnancy and engagement, she gave speculatory interviews about both. She told In Touch Weekly: “I’m not thinking [an engagement] may happen, I know. I found the right guy… I’m just waiting for him to ask… I’m 24. I’ve had all the fun I’m ever going to have in my life.”
In January, she told People about her dream ring before getting engaged: “He knows it should be big, ’cause if it’s small I’m saying no, like, ‘Get another ring!”’
In related news, FoxNews.com claims that Jersey Shore will probably be cancelled in its present form. However, season six wasn’t green-lit anyway, and there were rumours last year that this season would be the last.
