June “Mama” Shannon Calls South Park’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Parody “Trashy”
South Park did a parody of TLC reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo recently. Although, the highlight of the episode wasn’t the parody of Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson nor June “Mama” Shannon nor First Lady Michelle Obama, but James Cameron who single-handedly raised the bar for everyone: “James Cameron doesn’t do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron!”
Aside from the very end, the episode wasn’t very funny.┬áMama concurs in her interview with TMZ Live on which she spoke about other parodies too, including Saturday Night Live.
She said South Park’s portrayal of her family was “trashy,” explaining: “Me being a big person, I didn’t take offense. That show is just not a show that I would want to be on in the first place. Just the way they portrayed the show. It was kinda trashy.” Here’s her interview and a clip from the show.
