In Touch Weekly: Is Suri Cruise “Forgetting Mommy Already?”

In Touch Weekly Magazine has never been completely Team Katie Holmes. Logic would have dictated that, as the divorce news broke, Holmes would have appeared sympathetic in all the tabloids. However, In Touch Weekly dedicated one week to Holmes’ “bravery” in the divorce then took to bodysnarking about her weight loss. Then ITW went even further, by claiming Tom Cruise would stop at nothing to win back their daughter. Even if it meant buying the child’s affections.

ITW is labouring its point, this week, by claiming that Cruise has been spoiling his six-year-old. The tabloid also says it’s working, and Suri Cruise has all but forgotten about slumming in cabs with her mother (whose aim, incidentally, has been to ground the child in reality thereby offering a more stable life outside of her father).

ITW’s cover says: “Forgetting Mommy Already? Katie in pieces as Tom plots a new battle and bribes Suri with a dream trip to Disney World. How Katie plans to win Suri back.” Inside the issue, they tease, “While Tom Cruise dazzles his daughter with over-the-top entertainment, Katie Holmes fights back by giving Suri what she needs most: a normal life.”

Cue next week, with the same old photos of Holmes and her kid smiling at the zoo or at the museum, for the inverse of this cover.
