Tamera Mowry Tells Hot 97 She Lost Her Virginity at Age 29

Although the media is replete with pregnant teenagers, shown on television shows like 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, not all female celebrities are sexually active at such a young age. In fact, Tamera Mowry, the 35-year-old former Sister, Sister! actress, confessed to the Hot 97 radio station yesterday that she did not lose her virginity until she was 29. Quite a rare occurrence in today’s society, don’t you think?

Mowry even revealed that she has only slept with one person, who is 41-year-old Adam Housley, her husband. She explained that she is religious, so she waited a while to have sex for the first time. Good for her. She also said that she lost her virginity to Housley when they were dating and even initially regretted doing so. She did not have sex after that until three years later when she finally got married to Housley in 2011 after dating for six years.

“You may not understand this [but]…I felt guilty, then I became celibate until I got married,” the actress told the radio station. Her bravery and openness even warranted her a round of applause from Adrienne Bailon, who was one of her radio co-hosts. Bailon commended her, saying “just because you only had sex with one person does not mean you are not a freak and I think that is a good thing.” Bailon called Mowry’s stance of only having had sex with one person “beautiful and dope.” It certainly is beautiful compared to the gross amount of STD rates and teenage pregnancies lately.

Mowry has branched her career to being a co-host for the new talk show The Real which premiered on Fox on July 15th. Congratulations to Mowry for a new career, a clean state of mind and body!
