Tamra Barney Confirms RHOC Season 9 — “Lights Camera Action!”

Tamra Barney and the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County have been rumored to be undergoing some changes for weeks now, namely the exit of Alexis Bellino and Gretchen Rossi. However, the upcoming ninth season hadn’t even been confirmed — as least not until yesterday when Tamra told fans that she was preparing to begin filming with Bravo.
On Thursday, Tamra took to her Instagram account where she posted a couple of photos of herself sporting a new haircut with her stylist. Along with the photos, Tamra wrote, “Went Shorter thanks to @littlemissitaliano @daniellafaubion. All ready for season 9. Lights-camera-action! Here we go again! #bravo #rhoc.”
For fans, this posting was super exciting since it was the first confirmation given by any of the stars of the show. Although Heather recently spoke about a possible season 9, she made it very clear that the season hadn’t yet been made official by Bravo — and that was just last week.
“Bravo hasn’t even made an announcement that we’re having a Season 9, so forget about who is coming back and who is not coming back!” she told Wetpaint at the time. “If we are going into a Season 9 we do need some kind of shake up. It’s a reality show, it’s about relationships, and if we’re playing the same beat over and over again it’s going to get stale.”
Last month, it was reported that Bravo had opted to refrain from having Alexis and Gretchen return to the show because of their lack of a story line. Although Gretchen is newly engaged, fans have reportedly lost interest in her and Slade’s ongoing saga. As for Alexis, she’s been on the chopping block for a while now.
