Taylor Armstrong Praises Camille Grammer For Coming Forward Regarding Abuse
Camille Grammer infamously announced that Taylor Armstrong was being beaten on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills following months of rumors regarding the issue. Although many already believed the rumors to be true, it was Camille who took a stand, revealing to the other women — and to the world — that Taylor was being assaulted.
During a heated argument, Taylor had encouraged her co-stars to speak up and let her know how they have protected her from things after she accused them of being against her. In response, Camille explained, “We don’t say that he hit you. We don’t say that he broke your jaw, or that he beat you up, and he hit you.”
A short time later, Taylor’s husband hung himself, leaving her to raise their daughter alone. It was a bittersweet moment for Taylor who was finally free of her abuser at the same time that her daughter was left without a father. Since then, Taylor has recovered, written a book about the abuse, and moved on with a new relationship.
Although Taylor is no longer a part of the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she is still in touch with several of the ladies and when she heard of Camille’s recent story of abuse, she chose to speak out in her support.
“I am shocked and saddened by reports that Camille was in an abusive relationship,” Taylor told E! News. ”It takes a tremendous amount of courage to take a stand and report abuse. Camille made the right choice and I am proud of my friend. She has my love and support during this challenging time with both her health and her personal life.”
After going public with her claims of abuse, Camille was granted a temporary restraining order against her abuser, her ex-boyfriend Dimitri Charalambopoulos, which she hopes to make permanent later this month.
