Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell NOT Pregnant: ITW’s Bogus Exclusive

The tabloid covers are pretty tepid this week. It’s mostly reality stars and fabricated exclusives.
Like this cover from In Touch Weekly Magazine in which it’s claimed Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell and her fiance Tyler Baltierra are expecting again after putting their first child, Carly, up for adoption in 2009 (the couple sees Carly, 2, twice-per-year in addition to photo updates per their agreement with the adoptive parents with whom they both have a “strong” relationship).
Teen Mom’s sweetheart Catelynn Lowell is getting a second chance at motherhood.
In Touch can exclusively reveal that Catelynn and fiancé Tyler Baltierra, who gave their baby girl up for adoption three years ago, are expecting again.
“She said, ‘You’re never going to believe it: I’m pregnant,’” Catelynn’s longtime friend, Jamie Pyrzewski, 26, confirms to In Touch. Jamie — one of the first people Catelynn, 20, called last month after sharing the news with Tyler and a small circle of family members — adds, “We were both quiet. I asked how she felt about it. She said she was nervous and scared.”
But a short period of panic and “total denial” quickly gave way to excitement. “She is now feeling complete joy,” a family insider tells In Touch about the mom-to-be, who is due this winter. Adds another source close to Catelynn, “This time, she knew immediately that she wanted to keep the baby. She’s just so happy.”
Catelynn first shot to fame on the MTV reality show 16 and Pregnant as a conflicted young mother who made the heartbreaking choice to put her daughter Carly up for adoption in 2009, and later became a fan favorite on the network’s Teen Mom for her steady pursuit of her dreams and rock-solid relationship with Tyler, now also 20. – via In Touch Weekly Magazine.
The cover says: “Teen Mom’s Catelynn: I’m Pregnant. IN TOUCH EXCLUSIVE. Three years after giving their first baby up for adoption, Catelynn and Tyler have a second chance for a family of their own. ‘I want a little girl’.”
The report contains no direct quotes, not from Lowell or Baltierra, and the cover quotes are really paraphrased from Pyrzewski’s interview. The specifics, including the phone conversation, the reactions, and the due date, are probably fabricated too.
Lowell’s issued her denial to Us Weekly: ”Don’t believe everything you read, I’m definitely not pregnant! I’m on the pill. And, I’m only 20. I don’t want to have kids until I’m out of school and we’re married.”
