The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Finally Has A Teaser Trailer

The Amazing Spider-Man movie has its first teaser trailer and it’s better than expected. The reboot still suffers the lamentable problem of Spider-Man swinging through the city as though animated by amateurs. The first film had the same, issue in 2002; Spider-Man would bend and contort in ways too jarring to the eye even for a super-hero. The special effects of the flying were underwhelming nine years ago. And they’ve made no progress making that look less-rubbery and less-cartoonish. The super-hero just needed remotely natural dexterity. He just needed to be less… fake. It’s already 90 minutes of suspending one’s disbelief, but that’s got nothing to do with the quality of the effects. The effects in this film are very similar. Disappointing. The scenes flying through the city, at least. Aside from that one major flaw, well more of a niggle or an annoyance, it’s a great teaser.

It’s a good thing this teaser doesn’t give away as much as the teaser for The Dark Knight Rises. There are no quasi-spoilers.

We don’t see all the main characters and we don’t get the whole story arc. It does its job. It tells you just enough to glean its plot. It’s vaguely an overlap of a prequel and the first movie. Sort of. It’s kind of the Batman Begins of this franchise.
