The-Dream: Kim Kardashian’s Jam Song Was Just “Goofing Around”
March 15, 2012 by Hollywoodite
Admitting a perfunctory effort in the production of Kim Kardashian’s song, Jam (Turn It Up), The-Dream says it was never a serious attempt to launch the 31-year-old’s music career (this despite a Hype Williams directed music video and rumours of an album that quietened when the song tanked, only for the family to explain away the effort as a charitable endeavor).
Now The-Dream, probably not wanting the stink to tarnish his musical reputation, explains away the song by saying it was messing around in the studio. And an exercise in wasting expensive studio time with the trade-off of free publicity from Kardashian’s reality show that documented the whole contrived thing.
He told RapFix Live: ”I’m the one that actually called her to do it. This was very, very… believe it or not… a very fun moment for me. It’s one of my lightest musical moments. It wasn’t about kicking off a singing career. It was us really having the power of TV and goofing off.”
