The RHONJ Finale Was Edited To Include “More Drama”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey has never been known for its shortage of drama, but according to a recent report, the scenes shot for the show’s finale were so lackluster that producers were forced to mix and match segments in an effort to create more drama.
“Seeing Teresa and Melissa fight was boring because no one was telling the truth about what had really happened so production made the decision to change what they first cut and make sure the drama was edited in,” a source close to production revealed to Radar Online.
Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga have been going back and forth with accusations, denials, and spats, since Melissa was added to the show during season 3, so it’s not too surprising to hear that the story line may be getting a bit old.
That being said, one would think that the bloody brawl between Jacqueline Laurita, Chris Laurita, Joe Gorga, and Johnny Karagiorgis would have been enough to make for an epic finale — and it likely would have had producers been able to tie it into the events previously documented for the series.
“The big fight that happened in March gave producers good material, but they were scrambling to have it make sense with the relationships with all of the people,” the source explains further. “It was hard for producers to edit out all of the good parts of the fight, and then they had to make the episodes leading up to it make sense so they re-edited the final episodes to create more drama.”
Adds the source, “They wanted to have a really dramatic season and so they made sure that the final episodes had the best details from everyone’s interactions.”
