The View Co-Host Sherri Shepherd Supports Gun Ownership!

The View co-host Sherri Shepherd did not hide some of her right wing views on yesterday’s episode of the show.

During the show’s Hot Topics segment, Shepard claimed that she intended on buying a gun to protect her home from intruders. This comes after her burglar alarm at her New York city home went off at 1 a.m. revealing that there was an intruder inside the home, which terrified her young son, Jeffrey.

“I’m trying to calm Jeffrey down and all I had was this wicker basket,” Shepard said. “I have nothing, a bat, nothing. We’re going to get a gun.”

The police showed up approximately seven-minutes after the alarm sounded and declared it to be a false alarm, however, Shepherd was still convinced of the need to own a gun.

Fellow co-host Barbara Walters had the opposite view of Shepherd and even tried to talk her out of it, while guest co-host Gretchen Wilson fully supported the idea and even gave details about the type of guns she owns.

Whoopi Goldberg tried to find the middle ground in the argument and encouraged Shepherd to get a bat instead.

This debate comes after gun control has been one of the number one issues in the minds of Americans due to recent mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut where 26 people died and at Century movie theater Aurora, Colorado where 12 people died.
