Watch the trailer for TLC’s Virgin Diaries, airing this weekend with a heinous, sloppy first (ever) kiss between the 30-year-old bride and groom virgins. The groom admits he’s “not a virgin entirely by choice.”
Oh dear. This is really no surprise from a channel whose bread and butter is people’s disgusting, hoarded homes, people eating relatives’ ashes/ sofa cushions/ dirt/ rocks etc., people with inanimate objects as SOs, people with multiple spouses, pageant toddlers with exploitative parents living out failed dreams, and people who went into labour without knowing they were pregnant. It’s the latest in a long line of shows that gives a schadenfreude-filled look into the lives of people probably worse off than you in some way; at least one gleans that’s the point… “Whew, at least my life’s not that bad!”
