In Touch Weekly: Tom Cruise’s “Secret Plans” For Suri Cruise
July 18, 2012 by Hollywoodite
In Touch Weekly Magazine is another of the supermarket weeklies to feature Tom Cruise’s side of the divorce on its cover (his asleep at the wheel team consistently takes about two weeks to counter pro-Holmes moves like the actual divorce and this is no different).
Last week, Star Magazine had a laughable cover headline about Cruise “letting” Katie Holmes win the divorce already won in the court of public opinion; she blindsided him, she played him, she won. But his publicists have pretty myopic hindsight, so it’s not surprising that another tabloid this week is spinning the lie that Cruise “let her win” (a small victory for his PR) somewhat contrary to a sympathetic story last week in which ITW expressed concern for Holmes weight after being “bullied” by Team Cruise.
People Magazine’s spin this week says “Cruise is not ashamed of his religion and won’t hide it from his daughter,” Star said last week that Cruise “let” Holmes win to stop his career-ending secrets coming out, and ITW follows their leads by claiming Cruise “let” Holmes win too. Except, according to ITW, the purpose is to expedite some “secret” plan to “brainwash” their daughter against Holmes like his team did with his older children against their adoptive mother, Nicole Kidman.
This is circuitous, to say the least. But, in short, there’s something insidious going on and, despite the six-year-old being enrolled in Catholic school and a local Catholic church now, she’s going to learn about Scientology from her father’s side of the family.
The cover says: “Tom’s Secret Plans For Suri. He let Katie win custody, but Tom hatches a devious plot to use his vast fortune & “Scientology brainwashing” to control his six-year-old.”
The shock of Katie Holmes’ divorce filing hit Tom Cruise hard, but the pain of losing his 6-year-old daughter, Suri, absolutely gutted the self-described family man, and left him determined to do something about it.
