Alexis Bellino and her husband Jim are dealing with a nasty rumor. According to reports, the home of the former Real Housewives of Orange County pair was recently raided by the FBI as part of an ongoing bank fraud investigation.
On Thursday, someone had written in to The Dirty, asking owner Nik Richie, “Why is nobody reporting Alexis and Jim Bellino getting raided last night by the FBI for bank fraud?” and then claiming, ”It was only a matter of time before Jim’s shadiness caught up to him and his family.”
In response to the report, Alexis has issued a statement.
“Today there was a posting on a gossip website stating that we were raided by law enforcement. It is an outright lie,” Alexis explained to E! News. “Being the subject of false statements and gossip is, unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of being in the public eye.”
In addition to her claims that the report is untrue, Alexis and her husband have requested the website remove the report. “We are demanding a retraction and expect the posting to be retracted because the statement is completely false,” she continued.
Earlier this year, Alexis admited in her blog that she and her husband had been dealing with money troubles, but at the time, they didn’t seems serious.
“Jim and I had a rough time last year,” she wrote in April. “He told me last year after the market crashed and we lost money on our home that he felt like he rolled the car window down and threw money out it. Although we were financially secure, he couldn’t focus on the fact that we had many good investments. He was too mad at himself, and no matter what our status, it still isn’t fun to lose money.”
