Video: Watch American Idol Season 12 Episode One Teaser Starring Mariah Carey

FOX’s American Idol has released the second promotional trailer for season 12. In it Mariah Carey tries to emote while not moving her face nor spoiling her angles.
Last week, FOX released teaser one in which co-judge Nicki Minaj was the focus.
It was an interesting decision for the Minaj promotional trailer to be released days before the Carey trailer, when the latter was arguably the bigger name and who was signed first. Not that last week’s video showed much. Except for revealing that Minaj changes wigs and neons in every scene and she emotes more realistically than Carey.
Moreover, as reported by TMZ.com over the summer (and apparently the reason Minaj became so infuriated), Carey made every moment and every audition about her; her record sales, her achievements, and her own background. By contrast, Minaj was all about the contestants; complimenting them, encouraging them, supporting and energising them.
