VIDEO TLC’s Breaking Amish: A Brave New World Season One Begins May 12

The cast of Breaking Amish proper will be returning to television in their own spin-off beginning May 12. This is the cast that imploded in spectacular fashion at the end of their original season, with it being revealed that the whole show was basically a contrived farce. That hasn’t stopped producers cashing in with a new premise and new location.
TLC will follow Abe Schmucker, Rebecca Byler, Kate Stoltzfuz, Sabrina High and Jeremiah Raber as they read scripts in front of cameras in an ex-Amish community in Sarasota, Florida. During which time the cast, some of whom have been out of their communities for 10 years, will again pretend to be “culture shocked.”
Breaking Amish: A Brave New World will premiere at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 12. As such, TLC has released the first teaser for the season premiere. It shows the whole cast return and move on to this new phase in their lives.
Incidentally, if Schmucker’s shirt looks familiar it’s because it’s really his and he’s worn it before, and Byler’s first husband owns a really similar shirt.
Breaking Amish season two, by contrast, will have a completely new cast.
