Us Weekly Magazine: What Tore Bethenny Frankel & Jason Hoppy Apart?

December 27, 2012 by Hollywoodite

Bethenny Frankel confirmed in a statement over the weekend that she was separating from her husband, Jason Hoppy.

A source claimed that Frankel was taking a break from the marriage at the behest of her therapist. Moreover, it’s a trial separation with the intention to work out whether they want to stay together and ultimately reconcile.

There’s been well-documented contention. Frankel’s estranged mother called Hoppy too “took weak” for Frankel. And Hoppy has been unhappy about Frankel talking about their sex life in the tabloids.

A source tells Us Weekly that Hoppy is really just “jealous” of Frankel’s fame: “Jason felt emasculated [by his wife’s success]. He’s not particularly ambitious, and Bethenny is very driven.” Adding that the couple grew apart.

The cover says: “What Tore Them Apart. Her resented her success, she hurt his pride, and snubbed by his parents. Bethenny and Jason had it all, but couldn’t keep their family together.

Fans of Bethenny Ever After know that there was plenty of drama and conflict in Bethenny Frankel’s marriage to Jason Hoppy… but there was no third party involved when the spouses of nearly three years announced their split Dec. 23.

“No one cheated,” a Frankel friend shares in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“They’re both devastated,” the friend continues of Frankel, 42, and pharmaceutical sales exec Hoppy, 41, who share daughter Bryn, 2. And although the pair butted heads, over Frankel’s staggering financial success and Hoppy’s family, “they really tried,” the [friend] says. “They grew apart. She is very upset.”

Indeed, Frankel, who has gone from reality star to bestselling author, talk show host and head of the Skinnygirl company, “feels like she disappointed herself,” another source says. “She disappointed her daughter and she disappointed her fans.” – via Us Weekly Magazine.
