Whitney Houston: Cocaine In Her System, Death By Drowning
March 23, 2012 by Hollywoodite
In news that will shock no one, Whitney Houston had cocaine in her system at the time of her death, cocaine was a significant contributing factor in her death, and, yes, someone probably removed the cocaine in her possession from her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel before autorities arrived. And, it’s still unclear how long her entourage waited before calling 911.
The L.A. County Coroner has released the official cause of death: accidental drowning. Also noting that Houston used cocaine “immediately prior” to her death and it contributed to the heart disease/ probable attack that led to her drowning.
Coroner Chief Craig Harvey called Houston a “chronic” cocaine user with an “acute” level in her system since the 60% narrowing of her arteries, a direct result of using, probably caused a heart attack while she was in the tub.
Houston also had marijuana, anxiety medication Xanax, muscle relaxer Flexeril, and allergy medication Benadryl, in her system when she died, none of which appeared to contribute to the death.
Police only found Xanax, Ibuprofen, and Midol at the scene with no evidence of cocaine in the room. Leading sources to claim “an individual removed cocaine from the room before authorities arrived.” Which seems extremely likely, and was already claimed by tabloids. TMZ.com speculates that person is the same one who “supplied Whitney,” although no one is named.
Houston’s family issued a statement about the release of the toxicology results: “We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure.”
