Who Played Megan Draper’s Parents: Her Mom Marie Calvet & Dad Emile Calvet?
This week’s Mad Men saw the introduction of Don Draper’s in-laws, the parents of his wife Megan Draper.
Photos included, since the parents took up an unusual amount of screen-time when it’s not been properly established whether they’re sticking around. Moreover, it gives more insight into relatively-new character Megan than is afforded some who’ve been present since the beginning (everyone’s got a back story, but Megan’s plots are beginning to feel a little heavy-handed, overlapping, and even superfluous).
The character of Megan is bilingual in English and French, born in Montreal. She’s played by Canadian actress Jessica Paré, 29. Megan’s mother is called Marie Calvet, played by Surrey-born English actress Julia Ormond, 47. That’s about an 18-year age gap. Which is probably about right for their characters too (Megan’s supposed to be a little younger than Jessica really is, maybe 26-years-old), with hints that academic patriarch Emile Calvet, played by Belgian actor and producer Ronald Guttman, 59, seduce his younger wife while she was a student of his.
Also included are red carpet photos (where photos were available for comparison of what they look like not in costume) and cast photos of: Emile Calvet, played by Ronald Guttman, and his wife Marie Calvet, played by Julia Ormond; Megan Draper (née Megan Calvet), played by Jessica Paré, her husband Don Draper (né Dick Whitman), played by Jon Hamm, and his daughter Sally Beth Draper, played by Kiernan Shipka.
