Beyonce Reveals Why She Fired Her Dad As Her Manager

If you thought the reason Beyonce fired her father Mathew Knowles as her manager was because he fathered a child outside of his marriage to his wife Tina Knowles, guess again.
In her sit down interview for Oprah’s Next Chapter, Beyonce opened up about exactly why she chose to let him go despite him being her manager for almost 20 years. Apparently, he used to schedule her for various gigs that she really did not want to do. According to PerezHilton.com, she states:
“It took a while for me and my dad to have an understanding. When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I’d say ‘No’ to something, and he’d book it anyway. Then I’d have to do it because I’d look bad [if I didn’t].”
It got to the point where Beyonce and her father would have major arguments. She reveals:
“We would fight sometimes, and it took about two years, to when I was 20, for him to realize, ‘Oh, she is an adult now, and if she doesn’t wanna do something, I can’t make her do it.’”
This isn’t the only subject matter the interview touches on. According to the promo for the interview, Oprah also asks Beyonce about her and Jay Z having more children, as well as the devastating miscarriage that she experienced before getting pregnant with her daughter Blue Ivy.
