Star: Why Tom Cruise “Let” Katie Holmes Win; He’s Hiding Something

Star Magazine takes a slightly different tact; they’re progressing the story a little, rather than covering old ground.
Star Magazine’s cover this weeks says: “Why Tom Let Katie Win: The 6 years of embarrassing secrets he’s hiding; He fears reports of physical abuse; Tom vows ‘I’ll still raise Suri as a Scientologist.’ Suri staying with mom. Plus: Katie’s emotional rendezvous with ex Chris Klein.”
The magazine is taking a more patronising angle: that Scientology-mandated recession in the face of a scandal of this magnitude (there’s literally doctrine that reads like a playbook) somehow outsmarted Holmes. It did not. She 100% successfully planned and executed her escape without them knowing; leaving them in disarray and trailing her PR spin for a week. Once the church finally got its acts together, it settled. She won because she outmaneuvered them. Not because Cruise “let” her win.
