Will Scooter Braun Join American Idol? Jennifer Lopez Hopes So

Scooter Braun is known as the talent manager behind musical acts such as Justin Bieber, The Wanted, and Carly Rae Jepsen, to name a few, and now, his name has been tossed into the mix of celebrities rumored to be in talks to join American Idol’s upcoming season.
According to Us Weekly, Braun has already met with producers about coming aboard the show’s 13th season and has also sat down with returning judge Jennifer Lopez who is absolutely sold on his addition to the judges panel.
“Jennifer loves Scooter and feels he’d be an excellent choice,” a source confirms. “She would love him to be a judge.”
While Braun seems like a good fit for the show, judging by his impressive resume of creating stars, there is one fairly major issue. If Braun comes aboard, he wants to be given the role of manager to the winner, but that role is already filled by Idol creator Simon Fuller.
Braun isn’t the only one in the running for the empty judges seats. Also in talks for the highly coveted spot is singer/songwriter Dr. Luke, who has worked with everyone from Ke$ha to Flo Rida to Britney Spears, as well as Idol alums Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson.
Earlier this month, it was reported that both Kanye West and P. Diddy turned down a spot on the show, West because he “didn’t want to be that mainstream,” and Diddy because of his former relationship with Lopez. Producers had also been in talks with Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am but negotiations recently came to a halt over money issues.
