ITW: Tom Cruise Apart From Suri Cruise For 108 Days; Will He Leave Scientology For His Kid?

November 28, 2012 by Hollywoodite

The cover of In Touch Weekly Magazine points out that, prior to Thanksgiving, it had been “108 days” since Tom Cruise had seen his youngest daughter. Which is the better part of a year, more than one whole season, and a good portion of a six-year-old’s life to not be in physical contact with her father (they spoke over phone and Skype instead). Cruise had been working in England on his latest movie, All You Need Is Kill and, although he had time for partying including tagging along with a younger crowd and dinners with friends, he never made time to fly back to see his daughter… for one hundred and eight days.

The cover of ITW says: “Leaving Scientology for Suri. After 108 days, Tom reunites with his beloved daughter. But the church forbids keeping ties with family members who’ve shunned the religion, say ex-Scientologists.”

A teaser for the story says: After 108 days apart, Tom Cruise has finally made the decision to put his daughter before his church. “I think Tom decided it’s in Suri’s best interest to give his energy to her over the church of Scientology,” former Scientologist Brian Canup tells In Touch of Tom’s choice to spend Thanksgiving with Suri. “It’s a very strong shift to make [but] it seems Tom is pulling away from the faith, and giving his energy to his family now.”
