X Factor Contestants Fifth Harmony Sign With Epic Records

X Factor judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid have signed season two’s third place finishers, Fifth Harmony, to a record deal on Wednesday.
The five members originally auditioned for X Factor separately, but were then put into a group during the show’s boot camp. The group, composed of Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, and Lauren Jauregui, hopes to cash-in on the same success as recent pop groups The Wanted and One Direction.
Even though Fifth Harmony finished behind Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar, Cowell still felt that the girls had major potential and released this statement regarding the group: “I knew from the first performance at the judges’ homes in Miami that we had done the right thing. The chemistry between the girls on and offstage is fantastic. They are really great girls who have become best friends. They’re great fun to be around, and most importantly, they are all incredibly talented.”
The members of Fifth Harmony couldn’t be happier, and have put their third place finish behind them.
Cabello had this to say of the group’s new opportunity: “Being introduced to the Syco and the Epic family means the world to us. We go to learn from, and work with the best in the business, the fact that were being given the opportunity to make music that we want feels like a dream that we never want to wake up from, and I literally just have to pinch myself.”
Fifth Harmony’s debut album will be executive produced by multi-platinum producer-songwriter Julian Bunetta who has worked with One Direction, Boyz II Men, and Flo Rida. Bunetta previously worked with Fifth Harmony as a producer on X Factor. What’s next for Fifth Harmony? Only fate can decide.
